Cookie Statement Swelb
Version 1.0 — [DATE]
Swelb uses cookies and similar techniques on its website and platform. In this cookie statement we explain which cookies we use, why, and how you can manage your preferences.
This cookie statement is supplementary to our Privacy Statement.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit our website. They are used to make the website function properly, remember preferences and understand how visitors use the site.
In addition to cookies we also use similar techniques such as localStorage and sessionStorage in your browser, insofar as these are required for the functionality of the platform.
2. Which cookies do we use?
We divide cookies into two categories: necessary cookies (always active, no consent required) and optional cookies (only active after your consent).
2.1 Necessary cookies (functional)
These cookies are essential for the operation of the platform. Without these cookies you cannot log in, your session cannot be remembered and security measures will not function. No consent is required for these cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
owner_token | Boat Owner portal authentication (JWT session token) | 30 days |
skipper_token | Skipper portal authentication (JWT session token) | 30 days |
admin_token | Admin portal authentication (JWT session token) | 30 days |
swelb_locale | Language preference (NL or EN) | 1 year |
swelb_consent | Your cookie preferences | 1 year |
| Vercel session cookies | Server-side rendering, load balancing | Session |
2.2 Optional cookies (analytics and functional-extra)
These cookies are only placed after your explicit consent via the cookie banner.
At present, Swelb does not place any analytics, marketing or tracking cookies. We do not collect anonymised usage statistics via external services such as Google Analytics or comparable tools.
Should this change in the future, we will update this cookie statement and request your consent before such cookies are placed.
2.3 Third-party cookies
Some parts of the platform load content from external parties that may place their own cookies:
| Party | Purpose | When loaded |
|---|---|---|
| None | — | — |
At present we do not load content from external parties that place cookies. Should this change (for example with the addition of a payment provider such as Stripe), we will inform you and request consent where necessary.
3. How do you manage your cookies?
3.1 Via the cookie banner
On your first visit, Swelb displays a cookie banner where you can choose which optional cookies you accept. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page.
3.2 Via your browser
You can also manage cookies via your browser settings. Here you can:
- block or delete all cookies;
- block specific cookies;
- have yourself warned when cookies are placed.
Instructions per browser:
Note: disabling necessary cookies may cause the platform to malfunction. You may then no longer be able to log in or have your preferences remembered.
4. What if you do not give consent?
You can fully use the platform and the website without accepting optional cookies. Since we do not use any tracking or marketing cookies, refusing optional cookies does not affect the operation of the platform.
Necessary cookies are placed for authentication, security and preference management — without these cookies, login and the portal will not function.
5. Amendments to this cookie statement
We may amend this cookie statement from time to time, for example in case of changes to our services or to legislation. For important changes we will request your consent again via the cookie banner.
The current version is always available on the platform with a version date.
